High Voltage
how to build a high voltage transformer?
I am trying to take 12 volts and increase it as much as possible I know it can be done using a coil (high voltage transformer) yet I have no idea how to build one, I need to build my own rather than using one from another object, as this is a part of something I am trying to invent. Thanks for any help I can get.
Buy one.
Inventing something doesn’t mean that you have to build every part yourself. You really don’t want to be messing around with home wound high voltage stuff.
But if you must, it’s just like any other transformer, the input to output voltage ratio is the ratio between the number of turns on the input and the number of turns on the output.
And I hope you’re not thinking of using a 12V battery for this. Transformers only work on AC voltages. All you would get connecting one to a battery or any other DC source is a very warm electromagnet.
